Reboot?


No GPU memory just GPU and GPU engine on my Dell. Haven't done a reboot in the last 4 days and Brave was updated automatically yesterday.

No they are not as you want windows to cache the data into memory as it reduces latency.
Win 10 and 11 are designed to cache as much data into memory as possible.
Ideally you want very little free memory with Win 10/11.

No, I run W11 Home with all the latest updates. I don't use a tweaker of any kind. When I was a Unix admin (retired 2011), I use to use something similar to NTlite so that I could fit and entire OS (Solaris 10), with all applications, on a single DVD. Now I just use what comes with the system.

So upgrading it from home to Pro a couple of yrs back wasn't a good idea.

Why would you say that? You're the first person I've run into who's said that.

Since I don't leave my system on all the time, I wind up booting and rebooting every day, anyway. Memory get flushed all the time. Besides, some non-MS programs I have require a re-boot when I update or upgrade it, as well.

I didn't know much about the differences, thought it might benefit. Being a med doc even W7 would serve my work. Only thing I need is a stable OS , MS Word and VLC player. My Dell systems both laptop and desktop came with pre installed W11 Home which I upgraded a few months later. My need is fast, responsive system. With 16 gigs of memory of 32 I feel it's bloated for me. Personally don't need the Pros extra features, that was the reason to purchase NTLite, but found it to be a bit confusing and less user friendly. Anyways I'll bear it since I mostly use only these features....or maybe downgrade if it's technically possible.

Home > Pro wouldn't've made any difference. Home is simply Pro version, with extras locked-up. Upgrading just releases those extras.

That would require a fresh clean install. It's (Pro) there already, just leave it.

Why downgrade? You already paid for it, anyway. ☺️

I've been using Windows Pro versions since all the way back to Windows 2000 and never looked back. Business computers have the Pro version installed by default, anyway.

I have found the added features of Windows Pro to be both helpful and necessary. You may find this out too as time goes along.
