Solved Recycle bin icon is missing text

My desktop recycle bin icon is missing it's text. It is only affecting one of my Windows user profiles and not the other. Is it likely to be an issue with the user profile?

Does removing it from desktop and replacing it again help?

And/or try rebuilding the icon cache... (for that user)

1.Open PowerShell as Administrator
2. Copy the script and enter into powershell:

$path = "HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel"
$name = "{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"
# Set the value of the registry key to 0
Set-ItemProperty -Path $path -Name $name -Value 0

3.Restart your computer

I don't have that CLSID number in that location, and my Recycle Bin works fine??

Unhiding is not the issue...

I know. But I think that command makes it "show" on the desktop.
The CLSID number... {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} ...is the number for the Recycle Bin.

right click on Recycle Bin => Rename to Recycle Bin

Are there any other icons missing text on your desktop? Were you anywhere near the fonts that you may of deleted one?

I'd restore from a backup if you have one.

Renaming the recycle bin wont replace text in explorer? I forget how you do it and I am not near my PC, but ask the desktop to show one of the other system icons to see if that text is also missing, like “My Computer” if that even still exists.

Unless it’s showing after reboot of course.

It did! The text is showing in explorer again too. I wonder if I've accidentally renamed the recycle bin somehow? I did wipe clean all the keys on my keyboard the other day while the machine was on. Maybe I hit some key combination that wiped the recycle bin text?

But I still don't understand how that puts the words Recycle Bin... back under the Recycle Bin.

The Powershell command just goes to this registry location (in pic), creates the Binary value...
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
and sets it to zero.
Which will make the Recycle Bin, show, on the desktop.

Why I have a Recycle Bin on the desktop but don't have the Recycle Bin CLSID entry in MY registry... I don't have a clue.

I do have the ThisPC CLSID number... {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
and it's set to zero, so ThisPC shows on my desktop.
