why doesnt windows 11 have a empty recycle bin icon instead of using words

And I use that too, mainly for rather large files.

i guess its not built into win 11 but i think it should be. or win 12 or whatever they come up with next. the visual basic itself would have to be rewritten with a newly designed icon

I agree -- I LIKE using computers --not fixing them -- at least not software unless I really have to -- and then I want to finish that task ASAP so I probably wouldn't do a good job in any case.

Same as when I'm flying a small private plane -- if it needs fixing while I'm in the air - I'll take all the help I can get from ATC, other aircraft, plane spotters etc and ground services - but so long as I can get the thing on the ground (safely both to people in the plane and on the ground) - I'll leave most of the problems to other people qualified to look at these problems when I'm back on the ground to check it out !!!

If my instruments aren't working properly or there are other problems - just help me to land (preferably safely and the plane in one piece) -- others are much more competant, willing and able to fix the machine and instruments when its back on "Terra Firma"!!. I don't care if some wire has shorted out or a tiny piece of volcanic rock has damaged an instrument -- not my job -- all I want is to land the wretched thing. !!

I don't think MS will ever make such an icon on the desktop just because someone thinks clicking right mouse button and then clicking 'empty waste bin' is too much work. Not now and not in future. Like I described it simply can be done by making a shortcut on the desktop, so it's very much unlikely MS would ever program such a thing in the operating system..

By the way, you don't need all that cmd echo Y nonsense; you can just run PowerShell directly.

That indeed is more direct.
After testing again, I edited my post #14, so that your command replaces the 'nonsence' method.
