Reinstall Windows 11 and MS Outlook

Some months back, I built a new W11 box. When I installed Outlook, I used the installation default, which doesn't use the PST file. I want to use PST, and I went through a cumbersome process of installing the latest good PST I could find. Antspants helped me quite a bit. The whole cumbersome process of going back to an old PST was documented in this thread: Help me change Outlook from IMAP to POP

Now, for security reasons, I need to wipe the system and install a freshm clean copy of Windos 11. Am I correct that if I save a PST file before reinstalling Windows, I should be able to point Outlook to the PST file rather than letting it use the IMAP default?

Yes, that's the whole idea of the PST file. You will have to reenter your POP settings, the easiest way to do that is via the Control Paned Mail App.

Just a quick update: I got everything to work and imported the PST successfully. I decided while I was messing around, I should install windows on a new, bigger C: drive.

I bought this one Amazon.com

I'm about to type "format c:" on the old one, which is a bit scary.

I got the new C: drive installed and everything loaded. I was clever enough to put the PST where Outlook would be looking, and I managed to avoid the default IMAP connection. They are really pushing IMAP, so (as anyone who does this often would know) you really have to be careful to go back and say "I'll configure the connection myself," or something to that effect.

Even though this is pretty basic stuff, I have to admit I'm pretty pleased with myself.
