Remove all "settings managed by your organization" restrictions

What is the best way to remove all these restrictions? I am not a member of any organization, and numerous settings are restricted somehow. The only thing I have done is installed without a Microsoft Account, hopefully that's not what this is all about.

That verbiage means you have one or more GPOs set. In home editions this means you have registry key/value pairs under either
HKLM:\Software\Policies
HKCU:\Software\Policies

This is caused by both group policies you have set as well as regedits you have made. While you can set all group policy settings back to default, only you would know what tweaking has been done through the registry. Do you not keep record of tweaks, etc you have made to your system?

AFAIK, that only applies to domain Admin vs Local Admin. A local Admin should still have total control over a stand-alone machine.

I used to just do that, but there are Hacks that are not on Group Policy.

I reviewed all the setting in Group Edit that have been modified, I set a bunch to defaults that I don't have any record of changing, didn't change things however. I actually don't have many changes there.

I am tempted to do a total reset of all Group Policies and see if that helps.

Perhaps it will be better if you revert just the ones where you see the restrictions message. It shouldn't be difficult to find out what regkey(s) are causing them.

Good idea, but I looked sorted on status and just looked at all the ones that were "not configured", and anything that looked like it had anything to do with updates and the like I reset to "not configured". That didn't change it.

"settings managed by your organization" restrictions messages occur when Settings sees the result of a policy of some kind.

Now, gpedit will only show policies that have been applied by gpedit or your domain (or lgpo). PolicyPlus GitHub - Fleex255/PolicyPlus: Local Group Policy Editor plus more, for all Windows editions offers the option of reading the local registry to look for policies, and that will usually show 'policies' that haven't been set by gpedit, but by direct registry changes, or some tweaking tool that made the changes for you.

I believe that WinAero tweaker will output a registry list of settings it has made for you, so if you use that it should show registry changes in the Group Policy areas.

Resetting Group Policy is the "nuclear option" but may break things, and not clear all "restrictions"

There are other policies that are supposed to be made by InTune/MDM, which you haven't set using InTune or applying provisioning packages or by scripting the WMIBridge. Some can be set by direct registry edits which you may have done. Or had done for you. There's no easy way that I know of to find these. Resetting Group Policy won't have any effect on these. However, there's a good chance somebody here will be able to identify specific issues.

So, I'd suggest that you don't worry about the "restrictions" unless they are preventing you from making changes that you really want or need to do. Then tackle them individually.

That's what I've been doing so far, and I'm thinking it's probably the easiest way to deal with this issue.
