Dont want to remove this external ( USB3) SSD , cant remove it either , so WHY (??) always visible in the Eject Media applet.............??

After you navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\storahci\Parameters\Device and create a new Multi String Value called TreatAsInternalPort, double-click that value-name and it will open a panel for you to type in.
Type 0 on the first line, then heit Enter on your keyboard, and the cursor will move to the next line. Type 1, Enter, and type 2, etc. When you've finished, click OK. Close the registry and restart your PC.

Forgot about that little trick. That should work.

I would go back and delete that new TreatAsInternalPort value completely, then.

Let me clarify..., I only have one drive listed as Removable, but, it's not attached as USB, it's in a Card Reader port, so, maybe that's why it didn't work for me! 🤷‍♂️

It is old information, back in the day when windows incorrectly tagged some internal AHCI drives as removable.

The device doesn't appear in the StorAHCI service because it is not AHCI - it is a SCSI UASP drive and has the service would be UASPStor. I don't see anyway to indicate it is internal.

I can find the associated USB port for one of mine and follow it to the USB port device in the registry, but see no way of making it non-removable ATM

Yes , its located in the scsi ( regedit ) , but also in the USBSTOR ...........cant remove this SSD , thats why it should not be visible in the Safely Remove...............

Save it as a .bat and put a shortcut of that in your Startup folder, (cuz it'll return at boot!). Done.
