Replacement for Word and LibreOffice

I’m very confused. I just purchased Microsoft Office Home & Business for Mac 2021: Lifetime License from Stack Social.

Problems:
1) When the suite was downloading, the message said it was downloading Microsoft Office 365. And yet, when I look at the installed apps, I don’t anything that says Office 365
2) I forgot that I have a folder from work that has Microsoft apps (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive for my work department, another icon that says OneDrive, and Microsoft Edge.

Yeah, I think I screwed-up.

I’ve removed all of the Microsoft apps, personal and for work. I have the Microsoft apps for work still on my iPhone, so that’s good. But I don’t understand why the apps from Stack Social say Office 365.
Office 2021 is only supported until October 2026. It might last a lifetime but it's only supported for the next 10 months - as mentioned earlier.

Once your purchase is successful, claim your code, enter the key at setup.office.com..., once the key is verified download the .iso, not the standard setup files!
It's up to you to make sure your PC is prepared to mount the .iso and continue with the Setup.
Hint:
Print or take screenshots of every page you navigate to, throughout the entire process..., there will be pertinent information that you won't remember or have access to once the process is complete, whether you create a StackSocial account or not!

If you have a look at that thread I linked above, this seems to be normal now - it confused me as well. It's just terminology calling it office 365 when it's Office home - just ignore it, if it's just installing office.

Agree with this. I had issues. The software worked ok but didn't act as it should at removal time.
Thanks Hazel. I emailed Stack Social yesterday and just got a response that confirms what you’re saying. They write we “understand you're seeing Microsoft 365 during the installation process. Please rest assured that you're downloading the correct file. The reason it shows Microsoft 365 is that both Office 2021 and Microsoft 365 share the same installer.Go ahead and finish the download, then check the version of Microsoft Office afterward. You should see the correct version once it's fully installed.”

Yup! That's how you can sign out immediately after you sign in!
As long as you register your keys with them, they don't give a sh*t what version you use!

I only signed in to my account one time in order to install it. And that's it.

After installing it, I signed out and never had to sign back in to any account in order to use it. It runs without the cloud, natively.

That’s not uncommon.
I also see Microsoft 365 with the Office 2024 which I have purchased. Under account, just go to Microsoft 365 and disable it from updating.
