This tutorial will show you how to manually reset sync data from Microsoft servers (cloud) for your Microsoft Edge browsing data in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The Microsoft Edge web browser is based on Chromium and was released on January 15, 2020. It is compatible with all supported versions of Windows, and macOS. With speed, performance, best in class compatibility for websites and extensions, and built-in privacy and security features.

Signing into Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft account will enable syncing your browsing data across all your devices signed-in to Microsoft Edge with the same Microsoft account. You can sync your browsing favorites, settings, personal info, passwords, history, open tabs, extensions, apps, collections, payments using Microsoft account, and wallet assets. Each synced data type may be turned on or off individually.

If you're having problems syncing your browsing data across your other signed-in devices, try resetting sync data from the Microsoft servers. Use this only if your sync data is available on this device or if you want to delete all your sync data from the servers.

Resetting sync data will delete your sync data from the Microsoft servers and then re-sync your browsing data from this device to the servers. A data reset can take from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on how much data you've stored in Microsoft’s cloud. In some cases, you might see a message saying that a reset couldn't be completed and a suggestion to reset again. In this case, wait a few hours and try to reset the data again. If you're still unable to reset your data, contact Microsoft Edge Support.

After a data reset has been successfully completed, data will once again synchronize from your device if you chose to resume sync after the reset. You'll need to sign back in on your other devices if you want to sync from those devices. However, if you didn’t choose to resume sync, then your Microsoft Edge data is removed from the cloud and your data will no longer synchronize.

If you are having problems with your sync data on this device, first try to re-sync data to this device before deleting your sync data from the servers.
