Resolve Task Manager process might continue to run in background after app is closed

The issue of Task Manager being unable to terminate processes using the [X] button persists in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 28000 and KB5070300 Windows 11 Insider Dev and Beta build 26220.7070 (25H2).

We can still use CFR RKey: 4188347533 and 1318466191 to fix the issue where Task Manager cannot terminate the process using the [X] button.

Currently, most people accept using [End Task] button, CMD commands or even less efficient BAT scripts to terminate the taskmgr.exe process. Therefore, I don't think Microsoft will fix this problem very quickly.

@uncyler825.......... I'll wait. I just don't like messing with the registry to solve a current problem when it could break with another update.

You can stay at 26200.6901 and wait for the November 11th security update. :-)

There are no Task Manager issues in versions 26200.6901 or earlier.

If no solution works, you can also create a scheduled task which kills task manager every 1 hour for example, until they release a new update.

The KB5068861 (26200.7167+) security update released on November 11 should completely resolve this issue.

Why? I don't call the Taskmanager a thousand times during a session.... Once a session will do and you have only to fire 1 command. No need to schedule this. And anyway the Vivetool option also resolves the issue immediately.

ViVeTool.exe /enable /id:57048231
ViVeTool.exe /enable /id:49407484

MS forgot to implement this during their last update (26200.7019) It will be corrected anyways with the next upcoming update anyways on 11-11-2025 with 26200.7167 according to uncyler825. And... It's a annoyance. Yes. But the problem is not as such that the issue eats up all of your memory... :eek1:...:LOL:
