Solved Restoring Macrium image to a new drive questions
If I install a new m.2 NVMe drive, can I restore my backed up image to the new drive? Or is there more to it than that? Thanks!

You could also leave the old drive in if you have a free m.2 and clone it with macrium recovery, then wipe the old drive when you are done. I have done it both ways (many times LOL).

The destination drive can be smaller than the original drive so long as there is enough space to hold all the data.
Example: The original drive is 500GB but you have only 150GB of data on the drive. In that case you could easily restore the backup to a 250GB drive.

In principle yes, but it also depends on the distribution of the information on the original disk. It may be necessary to "compact" the disk.
