RGB extenders or motherboard RGB pin strength

I'm going to buy a new motherboard in a few weeks and. I've always have had issues with RGB pins on the motherboard either the strength of the pins aren't strong enough for me to connect the wire nto and the pins I end up bending or breaking them. In the past I've gotten around this by using RGB extenders then connecting everything to the the extenders. The issue now is the extenders are becoming loose and fall out but when I go to connect them again into my motherboard they seem to be tight and I still bend the pins when I connect them.

Does anyone have any recommendations with RGB extenders or motherboard brands.. I favorite brands of motherboard are ASRock and Gigabyte.

My 1st build was 1996 when the difference between 40gb and 80gb drive was $250

The RGB pins on newer motherboards are the same as those found on older motherboards, except there is now ARGB connectors as well as RGB connectors - and they are not compatible, so my simple advice would be not to get them muddled up.

The RGB connectors are there to form an electrical contact, and are not really designed to withstand much physical force or pressure. The RGB connectors are very similar to the USB headers and the front panel I/O connectors. You don't mention any problem with those connectors, so I am kind of curious as to why you experience this problem with RGB pins only?

Maybe you can upload a photo of what you are currently doing, so that we can investigate the matter further, before you commit to doing the same in a new motherboard.

There is no reason at all that those pins should become bent unless you are placing undue stress on them. Make sure that your RGB cables have some slack and you will be all right. Use extenders if you need to.

Most modern MBs have both kinds of LED types, RGB and ARGB like your present one has. As for MB recommendation it depends on platform you are going for, Intel or AMD and which CPU. Only then we can talk about actual MB manufacturer. Pins on MB are standard so it doesn't matter which.

I apologize for the delayed response. After reading the responses with connecting the rubber RGB connector to the header with to much pressure, I bought an ASROCK B550 Velocita MB. Mainly because there are four RGB headers. This time I was very careful while matching the pins. If I felt any difficulty I stopped and tried again.

When USB 3.0 first came out I had the same issue though now with the outside notch on both the connector and header I can always know where to match them. The plastic connectors for other connections are easy because it just feels different when the connector doesn't match the header

So thank you to everyone. I hope this post will help someone else
