Windows 11 Pro build 26200.5651 (Dev)
Hi all.

When I right-click on a file or folder which sits at the bottom half of the screen, I get some sort of aberration on the last ribbon of the right-click context menu, which is the tools ribbon (cut, copy, rename, etc.), as the attached screenshot clearly shows. You can see the Cut, Copy, etc. labels are off limits and the ribbon length is a little bit short. This has been going on with the 24H2 builds. I now have build 26100.1591 and the faulty right-click context menu is still coming up.

If the file, folder is at the top half of the the screen, the tools ribbon is on the top and I do not see the anomaly.

Strange enough, when this faulty right-click context menu appears, let's say, once or twice, then subsequent RC context menus at the bottom half of the screen render up correctly.

Has anyone else seen this ?

Please note I have partly incompatible hardware by Windows 11 requirements.

I don't think the majority here are running 24h2, especially on a system that old. Just guessing that more than likely it's related to graphics rendering/drivers/incompatibility in some way. Does it happen on both integrated and discrete graphics?

Thanks for your prompt response.

This is a slight nuisance and does not cause any malfunction. Therefore, for now I will leave it as it is and see if it will go away after several updates.

Yes... it "could" be a 24H2 issue, but there are a lot of folks on 24H2 who don't seem to have this problem.

Personally, I switched to the old context menu(s), the day I installed Win 11.
The new context menu doesn't seem to be as efficient as the old context menu. But that's just me.

Ok... you got it out of me. The new right click context menu is just plain stupid. :-)

Thanks. My monitor is connected to the discrete gfx card. I am not using the integrated Intel gfx card. So my answer is, I do not know.

Switch to your integrated graphics and test. If it works properly there, then you can look to the issue being related to the discrete graphics.

Switch to your integrated graphics and test. If it works properly there, then you can look to the issue being related to the discrete graphics.
Thank you. I think I had better wait and see if this little nuisance goes away after several Windows updates. I haven't used Intel's integrated gfx card at all.

Hi all.

I still experience this little nuisance in Windows 11. It happens on some specific locations on the monitor. On very specific coordinates, I guess. On which points, I can't tell because there are 1920 by 1080 pixel points on my monitor. But today I noticed something different which I wasn't aware of before.

Previously, I thought that the right-click context menu rectangle was truncated at the lower portion of the rectangle. But today I saw that it wasn't so. The rectangle was full. But the area under the truncation is transparent. Below is an enlarged view of the rectangle with corners rounded. Halves of the tool names appear in the transparent part. Someone on this reputable forum said it could be related to the language of the Windows installation. I don't know if this is true. But what I know is true is, that Microsoft couldn't still resolve the issue. Maybe Microsoft is unaware of the nuisance.

I am no longer a Windows Insider due to the incompatibility of my PC hardware. Therefore, I cannot fill in a feedback hub report at Microsoft. Even if I did that, Microsoft might have thought that it is due to my PC not meeting Windows 11 hardware requirements.

What about the text size settings in your system? Did you tweak anything font-size-related or scaling-related in Accessibility or in display settings?

What about the text size settings in your system? Did you tweak anything font-size-related or scaling-related in Accessibility or in display settings?
Thanks. Every setting is default Windows installation. My monitor screen resolution:1920 by 1080; Scale:100%. I don't remember if I changed screen resolution from 1024 by 768 when I installed Windows 10 6 years ago. Now I have Windows 11 through upgrade.

The thing is, right-click menu for files and folder are not always like this. If I right-click a file or folder, the menu is O.K. This is what I wanted to highlight in my post. There are some specific points where the anomaly occurs. If I move the cursor 0.1 mm left or right or above or below that spot, I do not have the anomaly. To find that spot, I have to make maybe fifty right-clicks on files or folders.

I have two screenshots below for right-click on the same file on desktop. One of them has the right-click anomaly. The other does not have the right-click anomaly. The screenshots are taken a few minutes earlier. Please check the date and time.

Try changing the resolution and the point size, reboot and set everything as was and see if that shakes the ants out of the system.

Thanks. For test purposes, your advice can be given a try. But for long term usage, a resolution other than monitor's native resolution may not be good.

I will advise after doing the test.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I'm using Windows 11 Pro 64-bit with version 26100.4351 [24H2]. I didn't really pay much attention to it since my hardware is more than sufficient, and I'm using a resolution of 2560x1600.

I prefer not to use the default Windows right-click menu; instead, I use the fully customizable, open-source application Nilesoft Shell.

I can say with confidence that this issue is not related to hardware or drivers.

@Rollback_Jockey Further to my post above, I changed the resolution to 1366 by 768. I tried to duplicate the right-click anomaly. I made many right-clicks like mad but the anomaly never occurred. I changed the resolution back to 1920 by 1080 because lower non-native resolution was terrible. I prefer having the anomaly to making my eyes sore. 😎😎
