Solved Rufus Install

Let's first try the basics. Disable visual effects (transparency, animations, fades), keep only the shadow under the icons, the cursor and text. Next disable all startup applications and non-Microsoft services. Change power plan from balanced to high performance or even ultra performance if you enable it. Check performance now before start disabling and removing more stuff. You can the go to optional features and remove those you don't need.

As I indicated above, given the history so far in this thread any attempt at a suggestion would be purely speculative, almost futile

2 options ...
- swap out the existing drive for a new one (keeps the old system in tact) and do a Rufus clean install
OR
- image the existing drive, warts and all. Multiple images from different software for safety (if they can work) - Macrium Reflect, AOMEI Backupper, Hasleo. Then absolute wipe entirely, absolutely, totally and then Rufus clean install

Compare with speed of old system ....

Like I said a clean installation might take a day, or many days depending on the amount of data to backup and the number of applications and games to reinstall, reactivate and reconfigure. In my case with my limited time it would exceed one week, no thanks! I did it in March 2025 because of a disk damage, I wouldn't like to go through all this trouble again. So I keep that as the absolutely last resort where nothing else is possible. Otherwise I would rather fight a couple of days and solve the damn issue. If there are minor issues I would rather live with them. For example I had several minor issues back in Windows 10 64-bit and wouldn't touch my system. Unfortunately I could not upgrade to Windows 11 for some compatibility reason (I didn't have my present experience back in 2021), so I was forced to clean install Windows 11. This also wasn't a pleasant experience, so I always try as hard as possible to fix issues and upgrade and reserve clean installation as a last resort. Yes, I am aware that a clean installation might be faster than an old installation which is upgraded all the time, but for my sanity I prefer that than waste my limited free time for a clean installation. Unlike someone else's computer that I could let Windows Update find most drivers and use Ninite for most free applications, in MY computer I want the absolute best with great attention to detail, so I do everything manually (finding and installing drivers, downloading any apps and always installing them in custom mode to get full control etc). I avoid any uncontrolled automations that could make the process faster but would make me wonder if I am missing something and if I could make it any better. So clean installing Windows takes much longer to complete than on any other PC.

One issue my Windows 11 installation is having is difficulty loading and navigating on webpages that are loaded. I don't know enough about html to know what is going on but I suspect bloatware has some role in the lack of performance.

On a lighter note (not much lighter), The "disk read error" during my Windows 11 installation on the Dell Latitude 6340 is a common issue (MAYBE) involving switching the SATA Mode from RAID to AHCI. I removed the drive and am backing up the data. I ran a Rufus again and created a GPT Partition Scheme for a UEFI (non-CSM) Target Computer. It is complicated like you said. Not sure why MS shipped this OS knowing it would make most consumer hardware either obsolete or difficult to install.

They probably have made a deal with hardware manufacturers to force us upgrade our unsupported computers or even better buy new ones. But they also leaked the workaround to bypass the compatibility check so as not to lose their large user base. The first Registry hack to bypass compatibility check to clean install Windows 11 on unsupported computers was leaked by a Microsoft employee or associate and of course spread among relevant forums.

I just made these changes and noticed the browser is much more responsive. I will do it to the other three machines. Thanks.

I did it before, I learned how to deal with it, I share my experience. That's what the forums are for.
