Rufus Introduces "Extended Windows 11 Installation" Support (Disables TPM/Secure Boot/RAM Requirements)

Post your question in 'issues' on this page. He will respond quickly by experience
Yeah if you do not mention weaknesses in it like needing to disable secure boot to install Windows 10 which is garbage. I have had "discussions" with them where they defended their position even though I showed them it was garbage. They only accept praise, not criticism LOL.

For all you people looking for a way to install Windows 11 on non-compatible hardware, Rufus has just made things a lot easier.
Rufus 3.16 has introduced "Extended Windows 11 Installation" Support.

Plug in your UFD, select your Windows 11 ISO, then select "Extended Windows 11 Installation (No TPM/No Secure Boot/8GB- RAM)" from the "Image Option" menu.

When Windows 11 is clean installed there is no check for supported / unsupported parameters like in an upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

With a bootable Windows 11 iso a clean installation can be performed on very old hardware.

What is Rufus offering that cannot be accomplished with a typical clean install?

If there is a user guide or tutorial please post a link.

It is basically creating the bootable Windows 11 iso?

Comments about being able to bypass TPM and Secure boot, and RAM caught my eye.

Those are normal for clean install as there is no bypass need?

There's an option to create an bootable drive that will not check for TPM, CPU etc for unsupported hardware

Doesn't a clean install not check for unsupported Windows 11 hardware such as CPU, TPM, Secure boot, RAM, etc.?
Or are each of these also checked during a clean install?

Yeah it does check and that's the point, using the option in Rufus bypasses those checks to allow the install to continue on unsupported stuff

If you want a UFD which can both clean install on unsupported hardware and do upgrade installs on unsupported hardware, then you should create the UFD with rufus 3.16 and manually remove or rename sources\appraiserres.dll from the UFD. To do a clean install, boot from the UFD. To do an upgrade, mount the UFD and run setup.exe. If you boot from the UFD and try to do an upgrade, the installer will refuse, just as it always has.
A couple days ago, installed win11 pro while running win10 pro.
Downloaded using MCT
mount ISO
Copied the install files to another folder on the desktop
I deleted the appraiserres.dll file.
Clicked setup, told it not to check for updates, and it installed win 11 pro on my incompatible PC.
I did not meet CPU, TPM, no uefi. I am legacy bios and MBR.

Instructions from a youtube vid.
Dont know why the guy said copy the install to the desktop.

I am going to try the Rufus route, since that's how I've always done a clean install.

I'm not sure a "plain vanilla" clean install of Windows 11l can be done on a system that doesn't qualify.

I use Rufus before, but my drive is 16GB and too many for a Windows 11 install Disk, I use Ventoy with the option "Disable Windows 11 Requirements Check" enabled. I use VentoyPlugson (built in on the Ventoy files) to set up it.
