Rufus problems

I had installed on a USB once before a few days ago. I erased the drive and tried to install it again and I get the following error:



I clicked "yes" (not sure I should have done that) and then when I tried to re-map to the ISO, everything is greyed-out:



I can't hit START or anything. How to fix?

It's the last 23H2 ISO

Grab another copy of rufus and try again.

Just building the latest latest 24H2 iso - no problem here.

Yeah, I'd have to reformat it again.

Reformatted USB drive to NTFS. Clicked on Rufus installer and the boxes are still greyed-out



It's almost as if you install Rufus on a USB, it remembers what you installed before, even if you reformat the USB drive, clean. If that makes any sense.

It doesn't look like SELECT is subdued. Use that to map your ISO.

Ok, I did that and it processed it but the errors displayed in posts #1 (DBX selection) and #2 (revoked boot loader) still exist.

The settings I selected are:

Sorry but I'm a newbie to all this.

Ok, well after reformatting the USB drive for the 3rd time, I skipped downloading the new DBX files. Then I temporarily disabled "Secure Boot" by hitting F12 and going into the BIOS and sliding the slider to Off.

I then clicked on the rufus.exe file to begin the install from the desktop. The blue install screen comes on and it went to 100% normally. Then the screen stayed black for awhile. Then the Lenovo startup logo appears and it seems to freeze before it can open the desktop.

I'm not connected to the internet. And I'm installing a bare-bones Windows 11 23H2 image. I will install the Lenovo drivers later at some point.

Now the white Welcome screen appears. I select the US keyboard, and it then wants to connect me to a network. I still have the Rufus USB installed in the slot. Should I connect at this point in time?

I do not want to create a Microsoft account and had ticked the option in the Rufus screen you see in post #8

Well I managed to get it working but it looks like Microsoft has completely ignored these options:



Which is a big reason why I chose to re-image it this way. I mean, what's the point if it isn't going to work?

Disable Data Collection - I had to go through all that crap. At least I could join a work domain and avoid using an email address but I'm not impressed with this at all.

Since I have a laptop I can play around with, I'll try schneegans.de autounattend's script, next. See if that works.

And if that doesn't work, then I may try Chris Titus' script from his CTT utilities option.
