Safe Mode with Networking - no WiFi

In Windows 11, Safe Mode with Networking does not seem to support wifi.

In Device Manager for the wifi it says, 'Windows cannot initialise the device driver for this hardware (Code 37). The request is not supported.

My laptop does not have ethernet, but I have a USB/Ethernet adaptor. Oddly, this works in one USB 3 port, but not the other.



I hope this might help others. I spent a long time on the internet. WLAN AutoConfig was already running.
The device was not disabled either.
And I could not connect from the log in screen.

Are Wi-Fi drivers up-to-date? Could it be that Safe mode doesn't support Wi-Fi 6 and not Wi-Fi per-se?

I have an old, HP mini notebook (2009) that I accidentally Rufussed to Win 11. Safe Mode with Networking will connect to wifi, but only from the log in screen. So I think you may be right.

I could never get it to work. I even went as far as to buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter that was known to work. I think it has to do with the motherboard and not Safe Mode.
