Samsung NvME 970 Evo Plus Firmware Issue

Well I don't run games off my NvMe anyways

as Use my Sata 1TB for the Game SSD, and NvMe is strictly boot drive, and a couple tiny programs--don't think my video card supports shader model 6.0, Video card is Geforce 1660 Super

setup exactly like secondary Gaming Laptop
M.2 Nvme boot drive on that one
and 1TB Drive Game/Other programs

*Now if Board supported 2 NvMe's Smaller one would be Boot, and larger one would be Game NvMe, but unforuately my board doesn't feature 2 NvMe slots*

Yes, reinstalling the driver hasn't changed the Health status, we may have to wait for the Windows 11 drivers.

I also have a Samsung 970 EVO Plus. I use Samsung Magician to check firmware updates. In fact, there was one just four days ago as well as the latest version of Magician.

Check it out: Samsung Magician Software | Samsung V-NAND SSD

I got the latest version of Magician 7.0.1

Mine says Version 2B2QEXM7 is the latest version

And doesn't change from that all

Not sure if it's cause of something local on system here or Phoenix controller on mine or what

Guess if i got desperate i could purchase a newer version of same type, and save this current drive that doesn't seem to be getting a firmwire update for future Laptop upgrade if i ever get the stuck screw outta the bottom cover to get access to the internals, Have the one with the newer controller in Desktop that actually gets firmwire updates most likely, and use this one in secondary system if i had to

don't mind doing another clean install of Windows 11 if i had to, with all other drives disconnected til main part was done.

something i'll keep in mind, and maybe do possibly for birthday if nothing by then

If your 970 Evo + came in one of these two boxes then the one on the left has the Phoenix controller and uses 2B2QEXM7 firmware. The one on the right is the Elpis controller and uses 3B2QEXMT, just as @amEliza has said.

Is their is any other way (than the box) to find out with controller version (Phoenix or Elpis) we have ?

I'm sure there was a change over date, someone will be along to correct or advise further

You can check the part number on the drive label.
MZVLBT0HBLR for 1TB Samsung drive with Phoenix controller
MZVL21T0HBLU for Elpis controller.

If Samsung Magician offers you a firmware up date for your 970 Evo then you have the Elpis controller, if you don't then it's the Phoenix.
