You can tap and hold to move an item to the bottom left corner of the grid where there's always enough available empty grid space, as the grid will automatically expand at the bottom edge. There, you can resize/reshape the item more easily. Next, you can just move the item again to put it wherever you like.

Works sometimes...

I do like that you can put single buttons anywhere, you don't have to have them in that expandable box!

Oohh! A double-quirk.

What you describe happens for me too sometimes it seems like. Also sometimes, it also happens when trying to expand the top.

While dragging the item, veer to the left to hit the left edge first (without dropping it), then slide it down along the left edge to the bottom.

The box can be useful especially if you increase the number of columns that it has. This can be done with the QuickStar module that I mentioned up thread (see my post #195).

I don't have many items in the Quick Panel, especially on my lean A17.
And, I didn't like that fact that it takes a third swipe to expose the item names in the expandable box.

The one thing making me crazy with my Galaxy S26 is the alram! I set an alarm to wake me up every morning and I set it to my desired time. The alarm snoozes itself after few seconds! and then restarts 10 minutes later (snooze time I have chosen). Why the hell should it stop ringing and go to snooze by itself before I click on snooze? Do you guys have a solution to this problem?

I do not see and option to increase the snooze time in the normal clock app.

normally the when an alarm goes off and starts ringing it should ring until we click on snooze. but with samsung it snoozes itself and stops ringing without the user interaction!

I found this App called: Neon Clock Wallpaper in the Google Play store.
In your Apps list it will be called: 4K Neon Clock

There's about 100 different analog clocks, which can be used as wallpaper for the Home screen and/or Lock Screen
And you can make Custom clocks as well. You can set it as wallpaper or screen saver.
I put this one on my Home screen...

Pretty sure all stock alarm apps on any android (and probably iphones) only ring the alarm for a short period.

Without this the phone would keep buzzing excessively draining battery, and annoy other persons present (surefire way to cause marital disruption

).

It seems to me that he optimum solution would be to extend the time alarm rings for "sleepy heads" who do not wake quickly enough.

I suppose a "non stop" alarm setting could be introduced with user recognising potential battery usage impact but that should not be the default action.

Is this a change in One UI 8.5? I don't use the alarm, but everything I read quotes it sounding for 5 minutes. My cousin A I says:

1. Disable "Mute with Gestures"One UI has a built-in feature that mutes alarms if you move your hand over the screen or flip the phone face down. If you shift in bed, you might be triggering this accidentally.Open your phone's main Settings app.Go to Advanced features > Motions and gestures.Turn Off the switch for Mute with gestures (sometimes called Turn over to mute).

2. Check for "Modes and Routines" InterferenceA routine might be detecting that you are moving, or changing your sound profile right when the alarm goes off, forcing it to stop.Go to Settings > Modes and Routines.Review your active routines (especially "Sleep" or "Good Morning" routines).Ensure none of them are set to change volume, turn on Do Not Disturb, or alter sound settings exactly at your wake-up time.

3. Clear the Clock App CacheIf it is a software bug within One UI 8.5's newly redesigned Clock app, clearing the temporary files can reset its internal timer logic.Open Settings > Apps > Clock.Tap on Storage.Tap Clear cache at the bottom. (Do not click clear data, as that might delete your saved alarms).

I just tested it on UI8.5 and it kept alarming for 5 minutes. Not sure how much longer you would want to keep it going.

I wonder if OPs issue could be resolved by deleting and reinstalling clock app.

Thanks to all for your replies. This is not my first phone! so until now all phones I had would keep alarming until I hit snooze to turn the alarm off. This new phone is behaving differently as if I don't touch it, it will go silent and snooze itself in less then a minute.
I have already tried all advice posted by A Guy and non fixed the problem. But cereberus saying that on his phone the alarm kept ringing for 5 minutes means that problem is probably on my side. I will try to delete the the clock and reinstall it and see if this fixes the problem.

I use the Google Clock app from the Play Store, you can set the amount of time the alarm rings for, in various increments, including "Never".
The default setting is silence after 10 minutes.
