I hope, I'm not breaking any rules posting this type of software question. I have spoken to the software provider he said no, settings in the software could cause this problem. Both pcs are Win 11 pro fully updated. Here are the two photos 1 from each pc. 1 was unsupported hardware, and the other is supported hardware the one I'm on now. Unsupported pc has correct button view. the supported pc the buttons are unreadable. 1st photo is unsupported pc 2nd is supported hardware. All settings in the software are identical.

That could be, unsupported hardware has discrete graphics card. The supported hardware has integrated graphics in processor.

If I change scale setting from 125% to 100% everything is fine. I just have a hard time seeing it. It's fine on the other pc at 125% but, like you said, difference between discreet card and integrated graphics may be the problem.

Looks like a text problem in the second example the text is larger and overflows the text boxes which are not seen due to the graphics.

As I don't have that App then you will have to look in it's options.

In Windows settings:
Accessibility > Text size >
Normally that would be 100%, anything higher may not work or have odd things happening depending on how an App is written.

Note this is different from Display scaling.

Nothing to do with Graphics chipsets and drivers, integrated or not.

If you need the display to be larger you can simply use the magnifier. :-) I find in most cases things are best left to scale.

I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.

I agree it has absolutely nothing nothing to do with graphics or drivers so save your money. It's a combination of first and foremost scale along with the size of your system font, size of your monitors and your display resolution. (display resolution will be based on the type connection you have from each monitor to the graphics port on the computer. HDMI and DP connections have higher resolutions than vga. I would bet that either your monitors are not the same size OR your connection type to each monitor is different.

Getting each of the settings fine-tuned for the size of your monitor and your eyes takes a lot of trial and error and adjustments, and the adjustments must be made a little at a time to reach an acceptable appearance.. If there is a difference in the size of your 2 monitors, even with the same settings, it will appear different on the 2 monitors. It will also appear different on monitors set at different resolutions.

If you will notice the font on the first screenshot is a tighter smaller font wheras the second screenshot the font is larger by several pixels.

On the troublesome computer, If scale of 100 is too small, but fonnts are messed up at 125. you could start with setting a custom scale of say 110% or 115% and work from there. Scale comes first. All other tweaks affecting fonts work first off of the scale setting followed by the resolution setting.
NOTE: Any settings you change will affect fonts system wide, not only in that one app.

  • System 3 is non compliant Dell 9020 i7-4770/24gb ram Win11 PRO 26200.9168
Both pcs are attached to the same monitor using hdmi. I will mess around with the scale and fonts some more. What's strange, if I select my sds200 scanner in the software, everything is sized correctly? I'm confused!
