Solved Screen goes off and laptop goes to sleep?

The patient - Lenovo Ideapad 3 Slim running 24H2

The problem(or is there one?) is that when the screen is set to go off after whatever time I set it to, the power button blinks like its in sleep mode.

powercfg /a tells me the laptop supports S0 Low-Power Idle also known as Modern Standby. So maybe the blinking power light is normal but unlike every other computer ive had where the screen went off, I did not get a login screeen on waking the screen up.

So is there a problem? Or is this how a laptop with S0 Low-Power Idle/Modern Standby works. Have I become a wagon without realizing it?

The time to turn the screen off? Ive used Settings\System\Power & Battery\Screen, sleep & hiberate as well as the older Power Options in Control Panel. Changes on one replicate on the other.

I was just setting up the laptop for someone and was running it without password so that option was not there. So i put in a temp one, tried your suggestion and it worked. I removed the password and bizarely the login screen has not come back. I'll take it.

I have sleep set to 1hr but screen set to 20min but for trying to figure this out 1m.

This is my first use with an S0/Modern Standby laptop so this is the first time ive seen a blinking power light when the screen goes off but the laptop has not gone to sleep yet.

Blinking light notwithstanding, we might have to ring the problem solved bell.

Here it is.

So for testing i set screen off at 1min and sleep at 1hr so it going to sleep after 1hr of inactivy. Not sure why theres a notification at 230 today for screen off when it was already asleep.

And Lenovo says thats normal for some of their laptops. So worried over nothing. I just got another laptop in, an HP with S0/Modern Standby and its power light did not blink so Lenovo specific maybe 🤷‍♂️
