Seasonic Launches the Legacy Hunt for vintage power supply model

In 2025, Seasonic reached an amazing milestone – 50 years of designing and manufacturing top quality power supplies. It was an important moment for us not just because it closed a chapter, but also because it highlighted how much ground has been covered since 1975.

This year, we are riding the same momentum that brought us here with the Seasonic Legacy Hunt action.

The idea behind it is straightforward. Many of our older models are still out there somewhere in the world, still running, still powering systems, long after the first moment they were powered on. Instead of letting these resilient units quietly fade away, we decided to bring them back into the spotlight.

From now on, each week we will announce one specific vintage Seasonic power supply model as “WANTED”. If you still own one of these power supplies in a working condition, hurry up and submit your proof of ownership. The first verified claim will receive a current-generation, modern Seasonic PSU built to the latest ATX 3.1 standards.

When a Power Supply Refuses to Quit​

Some of the legacy units featured so far date back nearly twenty years. Models such as the SS-400HT or early X-Series platforms powered everything from home workstations to enthusiast gaming systems.

What stands out today is not just nostalgia but the fact that many of these units still function. We have seen reports of systems that have gone through multiple GPU upgrades while the original Seasonic power supply stayed on board to continue to power a set of new hardware.
