Windows 11
Hi,
I am looking at partitioning my 2tb drive into two parts. One to keep Win 11 on, and one to have my old system of windows 10, with all programs.
Bootable seperately.
I'm not sure if its possible, or do they both need to be on the same partition?
My old laptop is sooooo slow, I cant really work on it anymore, I have to attach an external monitor because the screen is broken, but I have lots of old programs (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Acrobat etc) and not sure where (after all these years) the activation codes are. :/

I do have Macrium Reflect 8, which I clone drives with as back ups, but cant clone for this i believe.

Oh, Version 22H2 - OS BUILD 22621.2428

Any help appreciated, Thanks in advance. :)

Thanks for that info, I'm wanting to somehow clone my old drive and at it to a separate partition, is that possible?
Is disk image the same?
If I clean install win 10, then it won't copy all my programs that I need.

Welcome to Eleven Forum.

Rather than setting up a new partition for a dual boot install, I would would create a .vhdx file, one that can be mounted as a virtual drive in Windows, then restore a Macrium image of the old W10 machine to it. Then it is a very simple task to native boot from this vhdx.

The advantage of doing it this way is that it is very simple to set up and has no effect on the configuration of your installed Windows 11. Conventional dual booting with multiple partitions can sometimes run into issues that can upset the original install of Windows. I always use native boot vhdx these days whenever I want to have two or more bootable OS's on a PC.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.
