Description: APTIOV contains a vulnerability in BIOS where an attacker may cause an Improper Input Validation locally. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can potentially impact of integrity.

Severity Rating: Medium
Description: TCG TPM2.0 Reference implementation's CryptHmacSign helper function is vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds read due to the lack of validation the signature scheme with the signature key's algorithm. See Errata Revision 1.83 and advisory TCGVRT0009 for TCG standard TPM2.0

    Acer will not allow WD Black SN8100 to function in m.2 slot 0 and Crucial T710 ssd's to function in either slot.
I have 11th Gen intel processor and I got too in Gigabyte page that it need to install BIOS update. They said to update immediately.

I've been using GCC to check for updates for my Z790 aorus master x but when I went in through the website lo and behold F9e was sitting on the support page.

I updated my BIOS with bios usb 3.2 (red port). rear side of PC and it was fast. It rebooted couple times.

I checked direct on the Gigabyte website, no new BIOS there either.

No new BIOS for me since May 28th.

Furthermore, I have been led to believe BIOS numbers with a letter after them (F14c in this case) are beta releases and I don't install beta BIOS's.

I'll wait for a non beta release. And I only have a 12th Generation CPU on this board.

AFAIK, that's not a beta release, it's major feature was a further upgrade for the CPU microcode for the Raptor Lake processors. Since I have a couple of those, I jumped on it.

Yeah, GCC for whatever reason isn't showing a BIOS update for my board (Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Xtreme) despite there being one listed on the site. As a side note I've run into two instances where a drive update shows up in GCC, but won't install, while manually downloading from the site installs.

Yep, I'm less and less impressed with GCC the more I see of it. I like the idea of being alerted to updates of stuff, but only if it actually works!

Nope, it's the Gibabyte B760M GAMING PLUS WIFI DDR4, there was a BIOS update in May, but didn't mention that.

Serious Question, Ive had my new pc build for a year now, I havent updated the BIOS etc. Ive read horror stories on updating the BIOS, alot of people say that If my PC works great DONT update it, even if there is one. Any thoughts please.

Sun of a gun, I glossed right over that statement about that security fix! I was more concentrating on the firmware fix to keep my Raptor Lake processor from cooking itself! I guess I'm all set after all.

I somehow doubt my mini PC box with a 1/17/2025 BIOS has the fix, but that's life in the fast lane... ;-)

In general, that's not bad advice. I updated mine specifically because the Intel Raptor Lake processors had a an internal issue that was being addressed by the multiple updates that came out in quick succession. That being the case, you got to choose between the stable running and potentially cooking your processor, or updating the BIOS to keep the processor happy.

Yeah thanks so I was just looking in Aida64 Extreme, I have a Gigabyte X570 AORUS Master And the current Bios Version I have says F33f which says its from 2021. Funny as I built this PC last year..The current Bios version is F39g
So....lol. Serously what do you think. Im not looking to screw my PC. My roomate updated his Bios and had to rip apart his whole PC blah blah...
What would you do? Or anyone else please chime in.

Hmm... I guess I'm a risk taker, I'd probably update if I was four years behind. :-) However, I doubt major issue will drop from the sky if you don't update...
