Setting up new laptop and wondering if you should go with default Win location or add new folder on c: drive called Downloads? Thanks

Defaults are always good but I like to put the downloaded file on a second Partition or second Drive, sometimes add the tilde ~ at the beginning of the name to distinguish from the original. Then I set the Browsers to always save to that folder, helps save space on the boot/system/Windows drive.

I would think that the location to which you save downloads would largely be just a matter of preference. Just like Berton noted, I like to set my downloads to another drive, but on my laptop where I only have a C: drive I simply use the default location.

I'm kind of an old newbie. I just have one drive and I have never setup a partition. Mabey I should just add download folder. Sorry I really am older and trying to keep it simple. Thank you both.
