SFC /scannow extremely slow?

After installing May's Cumulative Updates including the Preview (now at build 22000.708) I noticed the sfc /scannow takes a lot of time to complete. The first time it successfully repaired files but even the 2nd scan is very slow. It wasn't like this before

Is anyone else having this issue?

Generally...

Only run SFC after a reboot.
And if run after DISM... it will be slow.
Has nothing to do with the updates though.

True for Win 10/11

I didn't run DISM before sfc. And it was after a reboot.

Well, occasionally it has problems to fix.
Run it again... see if it's still slow.

The speed time of scan and repair process will change depended on how many system files need to be repaired and how fast the Windows 11 installed storage device.

I don't have this issue. However, I run the following after each CU using Windows Terminal (Admin) - Command Prompt / Powershell - one command at a time -

rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /drivers/maxclean
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /Startcomponentcleanup
sfc /scannow

This does take a long time; however it is very thorough and covers most issues.

"very slow" is subjective. How long does it actually take to complete? You could roll back the update and see it that makes a change and then wait for the June update to see if the problem is corrected.
