ShareX - How Do I Do That?

I added Photoshop without arguments, so when you click add action you just direct it to the exe.
Clicking the run actions opens it in Photoshop directly.

Adjusting the "After Caption Tasks" and clicking on "Perform Actions" will open it in Photoshop without interaction.

So when I take a screenshot it performs the following actions (From After Capture Tasks)

(After selecting multiple objects)
After the screen capture procedure the image opens in "Beautify Image" so the rounded corners/drop shadow etc are applied (still tweaking that)
Press save then close in Beautify Image
Adds the name Sinto to the bottom of the image
Then the screenshot opens in Photoshop.
All automatic except save and close in Beautify Image.

As I only have one action, I wasn't given a choice of which action to perform in the "perform actions" in after capture tasks. I might add another action later to see what happens. It could get complicated.

As we agree that ShareX is inadequate regarding annotation, I discovered that Screenpresso happily opens a screen capture made by ShareX, into the Screenpresso image edit/annotation window for annotation.

Adding an action like I did when I explained earlier with Photoshop, can also be achieved with Screenpresso. It will call on Screenpresso either by manual operation right clicking on the image in ShareX and choosing an action, or set to run automatically as explained in my previous Photoshop example.

The only problem is, I can not work out how to select which action to perform when set to automatic, it runs through the actions as a list in preference to the order of the actions in the ShareX/Task Settings/Actions.

You can drag and drop the actions in the list in order of preference, but when "Perform Actions" is selected in the "After Capture Tasks" (Which makes the tasks automatic) the following happens:

My added actions are in this order:
Photoshop
Screenpresso

• When I take the screenshot with ShareX, the Image opens in "Beautify"
• Save image in Beautify and close the Beautify window
• Image automatically opens Photoshop for editing
• Save image and close Photoshop
• Image opens in Screenpresso image edit/annotation window.

However; Sometimes both programs open at the same time, also, it can be a long process as Photoshop can lag when opening for me.
So I removed Photoshop, there is no need to have both when all that is needed is a decent annotation edit.
Screenpresso opens the image quickly after Beautify Image in ShareX is saved and closed.

Setting Perform Tasks in the ShareX After Capture list is really only plausible when you have one action. However, having multiple actions is fine if you want to run one of them manually. When right clicking on the image in ShareX, you get a drop down list of actions to choose from.

I would say, uncheck the Actions you don't want to perform...

I mostly use the right click menu, still...

Absolutely, but you would have to change it again if you wanted different actions to automatically perform.

I agree that right click is the go!

You'd have to choose the individual Action from the Task Tray, then...

Yup!

Two things I've just discovered:
Not only does Mousewheel zoom Pin-To-Screen in and out...



Ctrl/Mousewheel adjusts transparency...



And...,
you can Stitch images by Drag-N-Drop within the Task Tray...

I’ve been searching the net trying to find a really good annotation/stamp image app that I can send ShareX screenshots to, it is proving difficult. Tried a few of the other screen capture apps but haven’t found one with a full editor.

Screenpresso is probably still the best bet, as far as free is concerned.
My other choices would be, Snagit, FastStone and Ashampoo Shap 16, although not free!

I don’t mind paying. I agree screenpresso. I did look at Ashampoo but some of the stamps are clipart and you cant adjust colours. So If I wanted a particular pink arrow, I’d have to download one and add it to clipart in Snap.

FastStone isn’t too shabby also.

I wish I knew how to make Windows apps. One would think there would be a dedicated annotation/stamp app for editing photos. There are plenty for PDF’s

Snagit would be the way to go. You can do tons of stuff with Snagit, including creating your own themes...

Don't get me wrong, ShareX is still tops for quick and free...,
but, if you want to get fancy and ultra-professional, anything TechSmith is the way to go.

I worked it out...
I made the folder Super Hidden via Command Prompt...

attrib +s +h "C:\Users\Owner\Desktop\Originals"

Ran into an instance of how to 'Blur All But This' scenario with ShareX...,

Here seems to be the best way to do it...
