Sharing internet connection problem

Good afternoon,

I have a Windows11 PC with internet connection via wifi.
I would like to share this internet connection from Wifi to LAN, so in network settings I select the LAN end Wifi adapter and make a bridge.

Now the internetconnection is working on my LAN port, but not via wifi on the main Windows computer anymore.

Did I forget to select something or a setting in the adapters ?

Better way to share your internet to LAN port to other computers using your WiFi, is to go into WiFi adapter properties and select "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." Then everything should work as expected.

Make sure you remove the network bridge first.

Network Bridge method should also work though. 🤔

I activated the "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection", now I can connect to the device connected to the LAN port, but that device does not have internet access.

Have you tried rebooting both computers, also the router? When doing network changes, some devices can't keep up and there might exist conflicts. Especially on the router.

Yes, I rebooted all the devices.
Do I need to setup a fixed IP or gateway in the 'lan connected PC' ?

No, it should be handled by DHCP. But if that does not work then give all computers a static IP. Make sure that the one connecting via LAN has the actual correct settings. They could differ from what your WiFi network has. I don't wanna test this out on my computers, risking messing up my perfectly good working system.
