I remember seeing something about the FCC or some govt agency setting minimum internet speed at 100 Mpbs. Might be worth looking into.
Thanks, I'm going to look into that....The funny thing is, I pay for a tier 2 which should be 100Mbps, but this appears to be the best I can get? Not sure if it's old cable lines our city is using or what.

Varying download speeds at different times of the day is typically a hallmark of systems like cable. When they share one pipe back to the central office, more people on-line slows everything down. When I had Comcast years ago, during the day my speed was great, but in the evening, it was awful! My Verizon FiOS has the same performance anytime I test it.

I'm in the process of setting up DD-WRT on my Mesh nodes because I can only get these speeds (particularly upload) when my Mesh system's main node is in "setup mode" like it is right now lol. Once it has been set up (using Linksys' firmware) within a week it 'runs out of NVRAM' for maintaining the Device List table - which is ridiculous considering how much space it actually has. But, I've been living with it (and hard resetting the mesh every 6 months or so when I need to make changes), and I've had enough.

I think even a Tortoise goes quicker -- I'd hate to even THINK of watching a streamed 4K UHD movie on that type of Internet service !!!!

That's a great price $139 NZD is $84.10 USD. I pay $89 for 1 gig internet
Verizon keeps trying to upgrade me to 2GB, but I don't do anything that the 1GB service doesn't do just fine.
