My old ThermalTake case has very basic RGB. I keep it on blue. It's discrete, mostly behind mesh. I rarely even notice it. I got the case for utility more than anything else.

Yep, the newer cases all seem to have rotating colors in various patterns on the fans. Cute for about 15 minutes and then get old.

I could unplug the lighting bus to the fans, but they serve as a pilot light to tell me the computer is awake.

At least with some of those aquariums, you can easily see if it needs a cleaning, from the outside!

Yeah, it kind of looks like there's a pink one here that could use a good cleaning. Dust seems to build up thicker and quicker in those than the standard hot boxes.

I can't imagine why dust would accumulate in a case with a glass side faster than one without it.

Neither can I. I'm guessing it might have something to do with front intake. Standard "hot boxes" don't have a lot of it usually. Many of them don't even have air flow at the top of the case.

My case was blue lighting, except for the GPU brace. It was supposed to come as blue, but Amazon got it wrong and it's RGB cycling. Arrrgh. Since I put the Noctua fans in, it's all dark except for the brace. I am thinking of 3D printing a brace with no LEDs since the brace I have now is pretty bad for holding up my card. That 3070 ti is heavy!

Then my case will be nice and dark through the window and no one is going to complain about the RGB lighting anymore. Yes, it's a thing in my house.

No one in my house complains because my PC is in my man cave. My grandkids love it because it shows them there can be creativity in form and function.

Anyway, I'll say again, as I've said many times.... if this isn't you thing, why be in this thread. This is like going to a car show and complaining there's too much bling being shown off. Then way go to a car show???

The attacks on the art shown here just shows a lack of respect for creativity. And for some, just personal attacks on certain individuals.

I must have missed something. I scrolled back a few pages and couldn't see any controversy. Of course I have a few folks on ignore so maybe that's it. *shrug*

I take the interwebs with a grain of salt. I've been creeping around the internet since before there was an internet. Just 300 baud coupler modems, sysops and BBS systems. Even then there were confrontations on those BBS systems. The first multi chat room I was in circa 1990 had the same 20 users bickering over and over again.

I've become numb to it I guess. My ignore button has a hair trigger.

Anyway, and I've said this before, I don't take anything on the net personal since no one here knows me personally or vice versa. That said, it doesn't mean I won't or can't comment on things. And I've been in forums since 1998 so nothing new to me either

Anyway back to the thread at hand.... I myself love being able to build not just PCs, but also create works of art through RGB lighting. But than again, I'm also a photographer so light and art are natural to me. I've still not created my "masterpiece", but the builds I've done, I'm very happy with... in both performance, and art. This my old build in the same case.... Red Storm. Blue Mood featured a couple of pages back. Of course I can change the colors to whatever I want, so Red Storm or Blue Mood could be something else by way of RGB software tweak

Once again :::drum roll::: personal preference prevails. (I never tire of saying this.) Personally, I'll put utility over eye candy any day of the week, but a job well done is worth a little recognition IMO. I don't see anything on this thread indicative of hostility or jealousy or anything malicious in nature. I rarely block anyone here because most folks here seem to have something of interest to contribute.

I think a build can look very impressive with zero RGB when it is done right. I also happen to have a few 'aquariums' in the house as well. My younger daughter loves them and we expect to be building another glass side panel unit this fall if not this summer. Being utility minded, I'm still going to call them aquariums (especially if they're water cooled). Watch out for leaks!

It's like me going to a hi-end audiophile forum and bashing everyone for spending high dollars on gear. It makes zero sense and shows lack of respect. This thread was created for people to show off their builds; not be obligated to uphold the traditionalists' standards.
