Still investigating, but, some elements and features seem really dumbed down, almost infantile!
The program is very slow and laggy, it often hangs on exit.

As far as being dumbed down, I wouldn't know as I'm new to Snagit starting with 2022, now on 2023 and it looks the same to me.

You're showing the "recording" features. Didn't know Snip & Sketch did recordings? I guess if you want more features there, there's Camtasia.

I'm not arguing, I was just asking a question.

Anyway, I don't do recordings so I don't know what my expectations of Snagit would be if I did. I do know they push their Camtasia product for those wanting full featured recordings.

It just dawned on me when you said 500 dollars you were looking at it from a Canadian monetary perspective as opposed to my USA monetary perspective. Nonetheless we both agree Camtasia is a rather expensive app/. And why we both don't have it :-)

It's probably one of the best programs out there but, I can't justify spending the money on it!

I use the absolutely free Logitech Capture for the odd verbal recording.

I use the free version of IceCream Screen Recorder for mark-up on-the-fly abilities...

I'm still on the fence as I want to do a couple of how-to videos to show on video what people claim can't be done, but....

And I had Logitech Capture but stopped installing it since Logitech said they'd no longer support it.

At the end of the day, if you're not going to use an app a lot, there's no use in paying a premium for it. And as I said, I don't even use the recording feature of Snagit.

Doesn't matter, just download the Final Release and use it as is, there's nothing wrong with it, it works great!
