@Edwin I did that in 2020 and had let the maintenance expire which was about the same date in December as your Screenshot and then boom Snagit 2021 came out shortly after and I had to pay more for the upgrade at 50% ($40+) than if I stayed on maintenance which is currently $18.16 (Single) and ($34.76 (Multi 2 users) about 25% of the cost.

Also this year Snagit 2024 came out on Oct 3, 2023 so I should automatically be eligible for Snagit 2025 next year when I renew my current maintenance Dec 2023 (1 user) & Feb 2024 (2 users) for a total of 3 Licenses and that each license can be used on 2 PC's but not at the same time.

In conclusion for $52.92 CAN for maintenance I can run Snagit on 6 windows Installs which is still cheaper than a single license or upgrading because some of the Features I use often and are exclusive to Snagit.

However since you also use ShareX and others and may be content on using an older version and not need to bother with paying maintenance.

Yeah..., that's what I'm gonna do for now..., play it by ear!

The thing with Snagit is, it's quite a laborious application, (I'm usually in a hurry)! A first time user will probably be a bit overwhelmed but, once you get good at it, you can produce some high quality content!
My favorite feature is the Themes that are fully customizable and they apply to all annotating elements!
(Btw, that 'Atonement' theme was free a few weeks ago, now it's paid content!)

I use the cut out tool so I can fit my document on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, scrolling captures, color replacement ect.

Holy crap! The scrolling capture is perfect! No intermittent scroll bars, no blend spots!

With Snagit & CorelDraw X7 I just converted a user guide from a 2 page horizontal layout to a 1 continuous scrolling vertical Layout.

The original user guide is 8 pages long and is easier to read when it is continuous.

Their nags go directly to Trash. They kept spamming me with "Newsletters" despite me opting out many times; so now I've "Ruled" them to the Trash bin, and don't get their emails anymore ... lots of spam mails (outlook)

My Snagit 24 Current version is 2024.0.2 (Build 909)-28-11-2023. ( Maintenance Expiration 12/28/2023)

When I "Check for Updates" it says "You currently have the latest version of Snagit". Why is it not updating to 2024.0.4 ?????????

@jumanji it could be a roll out by region and I was surprised to even see the update during the holidays (Dec 26th) as the 2024.0.3 was released on the 19th and the 2024.0.4 was released on the 21st to address issues with the previous update however like you I never received the update until days later.

EDIT: After restoring my PC to a previous image (9th Dec) I am on version 2024.0.2 and no updates available however latest version is still listed as 2024.0.4.

I'm not gettin it! Probably cuz I let my Maintenance thing lapse!

I almost thought they pulled the update as after posting the update on Boxing Day I checked for updates on my other machines but was up to date at 2024.0.2 but now I was just offered the update on one of my machines and they may have suspended the update during the holidays as there would be no support staff available for issues related to the update.
