After taking a screen capture, it leaves a transparent rectangular shadow in the center bottom of the screen?

And a round circle keeps circling in that area ONLY, not on the rest of the screen? Need to reboot to remove both......

Any ideas why.

Nothing to do with snipping, that sounds like the known bug with Search and your screenshot confirms it. A fix (hopefully) is already in the Dev Insider build, and if it works may be in the next Patch Tuesday cumulative update.

I get it too, you don't need to restart to get rid of it. Just use Task Manager to restart Windows Explorer (or sign out and back in again).

I have never seen that on my machine. I just used the snipping tool and there is nothing like that. I have the same build of Win 11.

Maybe it's an Intel graphics issue?

It's nothing to do with the Snipping Tool. It's bug in the flyout that appears if you hover over the Search icon next to Start. It should look like this, but it occasionally gets stuck half open, with just the border showing.

To sign out, click Start then click on your user icon, select Sign out from the menu that pops up. Signing out takes you to the lock screen, click anywhere on it to get to the sign in screen.

To open Task manager, right-click on Start (or press WinKey+X) and select Task Manager from the list. If it looks like this...

...then click on 'More details'.

On the Processes tab scroll down until you see Windows Explorer, select it then click the Restart button, bottom right.

Thanks for explaining. The circle hovering was preventing its opening. After restart of explorer now is good.

The circle hovering was preventing its opening. After restart of explorer now is good.
Hopefully there will be a fix for this in the next monthly Cumulative Update. Those are released on 'Patch Tuesday', the second Tuesday of each month.

When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 4GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Beta as native boot vhdx.

Hopefully there will be a fix for this in the next monthly Cumulative Update. Those are released on 'Patch Tuesday', the second Tuesday of each month.
