Solved Solitare?

Not sure how, but I've lost my Solitaire game. I've tried several places to download it, but I figure how to run it.
I don't want to play on-line, I want the game to start via a "tool bar" shortcut.

Here is the link I've tried several times to download and run the game. I'm only interested in Solitaire nothing else.

That game pack would not work on my husband's PC after he upgraded to 24h2. What I did to fix it was use Revo uninstaller to remove it and all the residual files Revo found. Restarted and then reinstalled just the games in the pack that he wanted.

It's faster to just go to main page for Windows 7 Games for Windows 11 and Windows 10. That way you don't have to search for the download link.

When you run setup you only have to install the games you want. For example, If you only want Solitaire then you only need to select it.

I did as you instructed with no satisfactory results. I got an error message about X-Box, never ever used that, but that error has appeared a few times when I tried to install solitaire.

When you say no satisfactory results, exactly what do you mean. Do you get an install error...any message at all.
Are you sure the games are not installing. Go to start menu>all apps>games

As I said previously, the games install and are in my programs list. My problem is, they won't run/execute. I see nothing after the game installs, no prompt to create a desktop short cut etc. Very weird.

The XP games I linked in post #4 are "portable" (no install needed).
Just put them anywhere you want.
You can run the game just by double clicking it's executable.

The solitaire game is called sol.exe

Also... the Windows 7 games work on Win 11 24H2.
You'll have to make your own shortcuts of course...

Side note: The item in the RED box is the uninstaller. The uninstaller works too.

I don't use Windows Defender. I use Bitdefender Total Security.
You "may" have to make an exception for the Windows 7 games installer, in Windows Defender.

Microsoft doesn't like us putting things that "work" on Windows 11.
It confuses their new methods.

They want everyone wearing t-shirts, leather jackets and hanging-out at the Microsoft Store.

In the Start menu select All
Go to Games and open it.
Right-click on Solitaire
Select More
Select Open file location

Just select the Solitaire shortcut there and copy it to desktop

Alternatively, you can also go directly to the installed location for the Solitaire game. You can then create a shortcut on the desktop for Solitaire by the following steps...

Right-click on Solitaire.exe
Select Show more options

Select Send to
Select Desktop (create shortcut)

The reference in post #4 provides links to two different versions of the classic games. This explains the difference

sol.exe and solitaire.exe are different filenames for Microsoft's classic Solitaire game, with sol.exe being the original executable for Windows 3.0 through XP, and solitaire.exe being the version used in Windows Vista and Windows 7. In Windows 8 and later, the classic game is replaced by the Microsoft Solitaire Collection app, although the underlying executable name and functionality may have changed or been replaced by a new version of the game.

Windows 7 Games for Windows 11 and Windows 10 provides a source for the classic games found in Windows 7 and 8.
