On SSD info - do I need to worry about this?

I look at the "Critical Attributes" section that is in red. Yet I also have...

So the first test indicates something is wrong but the following two say nothing's wrong. Which one should I believe? :unsure:

You can check SSD lifetime in Settings ->System->Storage->Advanced storage settings->Disks and volumes. (Without install softwares).
I also have SSD and I look there. If there something bad Windows will write message there.

On average, SSDs last between 5 to 7 years under normal usage conditions. However, this can vary based on the quality of the SSD, the intensity of usage and the factors mentioned above. But remember, they're not invincible — regular backups are essential in safeguarding your data.

I have a Corsair MP500 that is going on almost 11 years old that still runs like it is new and still at 99% life.

I think that you are misreading the results. The values for those critical attributes are zero. The number in the left column is the ID of that attribute.

Put another way, it is NOT indicating any problems.

As i said it all about normal usage conditions and rated for a certain number of write cycles. The SLC can typically withstand the most write cycles, while QLC has the fewest.

In the first one you do not understand the information given, added to that poor App labelling and misspellings in the first example.

The red triangle exclamation mark is just indicating an important area to look at. The yellow triangle less important.
That does not relate to the colour codes at the bottom which seems to relate to the Attribute value.
In your case both Attributes are zero which is good (green).

They are the same in the first 2 Apps. In the 3rd you are not showing the SMART tab no doubt it will be the same.

Why not just use the Samsung App for appropriate Samsung drive, or search for more rubbish Apps.

Even worse in the ClearDiskInfo in post #4 example.
There is actually useful extra info, but description and labelling is incomprehensible.

You can use the voting principle: if you've tried multiple pieces of software, and all but one say the SSD is fine, it's fine.

Also, as you have less than 19TB written of the 1200TB it's warranted for, it should have lots of life left.

There are NO attributes in red. The values for those attributes is zero meaning that none of those conditions exist.

When testing a drive, computer, television, refrigerator, automobile, etc. what level of accuracy / inaccuracy is tolerable?

Would 70% accurate, 30% inaccurate be ok?

Would 80% accurate, 20% inaccurate be ok?

Would 90% accurate, 10% inaccurate be ok?

Would 95% accurate, 5% inaccurate be ok?


SMART testing is instantaneous but unreliable.


Better tests are not instantaneous.

As far as I know, that information is not retained anywhere. You already know how many hours it has been powered up.

If you're concerned about the drive's warranty, its purchase date is what is relevant.

I would be shocked if almost any SSD under any type of normal usage would experience problems during years 5-7. My oldest SSD is going on around 15 years and it's still going. But technically it's only 80GB in size, so it's not really used anymore.

My desktop is 4 years old now, with a 2TB SN850 and it's at 99% health

You have "used" 19 TB of writes out of a nominal 1,200 TBW endurance of that SSD.

So there is plenty of life left in it, no problems, no worries. The 1,200 TBW endurance is a very broad estimate.

Look at where that App originates, maybe it is lost in translation, people in different parts of the world may understand/design apps differently and so forth.

The only 'red' in your screenshot is on the icon for the Critical Attributes section. The actual items in that section are on a green background, meaning they are all 'OK'.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.
