Startallback version 3.3.9c update
Got a notice through Win11 this morning at boot, for a SAB update, and it had a "download and install button" and so I did that, and it downloaded and installed perfectly. Went to the SAB site, and it's not been posted there, yet. Glad to see someone else got it, too... Nice.

I'm a bit concerned what this has not yet hit the SAB website. In the past, all of his updates have hit his website immediately.

The difference might be that this version is for Win11, and the previous 3.3.5 release was for Win10/11. At least, that's what this page seems to say:

Just being curious, when I installed the latest beta build and got the most recent StartAllBack version, suddenly the taskbar looked like that, with a thin frame surrounding it. After a reboot it disappeared. Was it some kind of weird error or is there a feature I should be aware of? I found it quite appealing but can't find a way make it look like that again.

This was the one that stands out for me: "Fix taskbar redrawing issues on Beta/Dev builds" Prior to 3.3.9d, the taskbar icons would constantly disappear with this build--you'd have to bring up the taskbar context menu and then select something from the list to have the taskbar icons redrawn--I used "lock the taskbar", both on and off, to restore the icons. Not major, of course, but annoying all the same. With this beta release, the taskbar icons display as they should all the time as we expect. Nice development!

Where is "always show scrollbars"? I've looked through every page of startallback and can't find it, but it was mentioned in here.

i have been having an issue where the start menu only opens on my primary screen. even if i click the start button on the second monitor, it opens the menu on primary.. i have installed 3.3.9d and the issue persists.. any ideas?

*if i disable startallback, start menu opens on the screen that the button was clicked.

EDIT: Disregard. Damn windows... uninstalled/reinstalled graphics driver and rebooted.. now functional on both screens. Thanks.

Just wanted to say that I've been running StartAllBack on Windows 11 Pro Insider: Dev Channel for months (6?) and have never had any issues outside of one time, where a reinstall fixed everything up.

I use it 100% to get a vertical taskbar.
With a 3-display setup, vertical lets me see all activities on all screen just by glancing from the right side of my left monitor, to the left side of my right monitor.
With Horizontal, I would have to turn my head from side to side to see the full width of the taskbar on each display.

Saves my neck... and MS removed it -_-

TY StartAllBack!

On 3.4 now...works fine with the latest beta build, 22621.100. It's the only thing that works well with the Dev builds and the Beta Insider builds. People should go for this over "patches" on the Internet for various things, imo, because the author here is serving a customer base, and he is doing a lot more than I expected to keep his program updated for the Dev/Beta Insider builds!...It's worked consistently with every build released so far, and I'm very appreciative of it.

Stardock's Start11, for instance, isn't even supporting the Dev/Beta channel releases, but only the official release, and in reading their forums, not very well with some of the features Startallback supports with ease. I tried the Start11 30-day trial and was unimpressed.

With Startallback, unlike various "patches" here and there, you know right away there are no viruses or malware attached to Startallback because there's just one source for it.

But Startallback has a free 30-day trial period and easily installs and uninstalls, is not invasive. You won't have to cough up $5 unless you want to. No one should be scared of installing this--there is no way it can hurt your build install, and the sanity it brings to your desktop environment is worth the $5, many, many times over... Takes less than a minute to install/uninstall.

I tried Start11 (by stardock), TaskBar11(pub domain)--neither works with the Dev/Beta builds, and Stardock's start11 doesn't even attempt to support builds beyond the basic Win11 builds. The only one I can recommend now is StartAllBack as it's been the only one that works with these Win11 builds.

I never gush like this about software unless I really like it, and it stands out among its competitors. I see people asking for some common-sense flexibility with some of their desktop UI elements that Win11 devs seem uninterested in supplying, for some reason, even though these functions were common in earlier versions of Windows going all the way back to Win9x.

Can't think of anything else I can add to this myself. I'm not pimping it. Beyond a 2022 Lamborghini Countach and a 12,000 sq-foot beach house, ocean-front in Miami, I don't get a thing for recommending StartAllBack, honest...
