@TraderGary particularly - and any others who do stock trading.

With EXCEL and co-pilot there's probably easy ways now of doing decent market data analysis etc. From an Excel spreadsheet / MySQL or MariaDB database it's easy enough to create links to interesting topics such as capitalisation, ex dividend dates, options, and other market data etc - the problem is getting the initial data in the first place !!!!!.

Is there any decent quick way to get at Market close the base EOD (End of day) data - namely all I want is the OPEN,HIGH, LOW, CLOSE and VOLUME of a stock. I don't need option data or level 1 / level 2 real time feeds.

Interested in mainly US Market, London (FTSE 100/250) and Frankfurt (GER).

I've got a list of about 100 stocks in total that I'm watching - if I could get these automated rather than having to download manually a page at a time then that would be great. Free feeds only please. !!! Yahoo used to have all sorts of access to this sort of stuff but that's long gone. !!!

Added -- missed OPEN as well in initial post !!!!-- also important part for EOD data !!!!.

Cheers

Hi folks
For those still wanting to build up data base of this sort of stuff the "Instant scraper" addition to Firefox works a treat

E.g for FTSE 100

little bit of edit then to clear out extra text so now have EPIC, Text name of company and its base data.

Relatively easy now to get an EXCEL procedure to go down the column - get the stock EOD data for that share and update a MariaDB database I've created.

With decent Internet it doesn't take too long but this is just a 1st pass - It basically works - I don't need any specialized API's etc.

Quite fun doing too -- but takes longer than you think so allow loads of time. Keeps me out of mischief !!!

Cheers

You can make a free account at Seeking Alpha, and make a portfolio of the stocks you track. Shortly after markets close (US), you'd have the criteria you choose in summary. There are other tabs for holding and dividends as well

There is a download button upper right in each portfolio that will download an .xlsx file
