Yeah. Samsung Magician, HD Sentinel...

With all of the restoring images from when everything was working and all of the clean installs, it has to be hardware related.

I'm thinking the same thing.
Reseated RAM and vid card, ran Memory Diagnostics.
Called ASUS today, explained the problem. Got escalated to higher level tech support.

Had to send them a bunch of info, will hear back in 24-48 hours.

Everything is still under warranty except the power supply and monitor, and I got a spare power supply, (identical).
If it turns out to be the monitor... that would be bad. only other monitors I got are CRT monitors. :)'

Actually I've whole spare computers, caseless. :)

The only good thing about this problem is that the computer runs... fine, except for the no BIOS splash screen and the sometime delay after entering the password on the Welcome screen.

I do hope you can find an easy and not expensive way to fix this problem. I'm no computer expert but I do know that the bios has to setup the hardware so that the OS can use it. Do you have any hardware installed that you can remove to test?

If you have USB peripherals attached, disconnect them and see if it is causing the issue.
My suspiscion is disk drive related issue (drive errors) but you said you already checked that.

No peripherals, cept mouse and keyboard, and I swapped those out too.
I am thinking I might unhook my storage drives, and see what the SSD does then.

I'm just guessing now. I've done all I can do, really.
I ran benchmarks, stress tests, error checkers, everything.

But the whole computer is not quite a year and half old. So at worst I'll probably switch to the FX 8350 build, if I have to RMA something.
I can change out the whole computer in under 30 mins, cause of the case I have.
I don't even have to disassemble the motherboard to remove it...







Pull it out, change the parts, stick it back in...

My old 4790k build is over 5 years old and still boots up in under 30sec.
It is definitely a hardware issue.

I believe.

My FX 8350 build ran 8 years, not even one blue screen.
Only time I had to turn it off was to upgrade a vid card. :)


That AMD 5000+ build has got to be 15 years old and it's still going.


I miss the days when the companies made... good parts.

I am the exact opposite. I tend to lean more on the looks than the functionality of the case. Thinking that I will only need to tear it apart when I need to replace or upgrade any parts.
My only requirement for a case is a basement and tempered glass.

Possible. The old GOP UEFI driver is probably having compatibility issue with the BIOS which is responsible for showing the BIOS and splash screen.

I'll tell ya one thing... ya gotta unhook the internet when installing Nvidia drivers.
"During" the install, MS is downloading installing a vid driver. I forgot about that. :/

Checked Winaero....one of the Windows updates turned off: "Disable driver updates"... again!

After having to unhook the internet, run DDU, and install the Nvidia driver... again... I needed some bass...

No, the new vid card driver didn't help. Neither did the latest version of AIDA64 Extreme.

I've been looking at the Services. They're ridiculous.

The UEFI driver is in the GPU BIOS chip, fortunately. It can't be affected by OS drivers.

Have you tried safe booting yet, or uninstalling your Bitdefender? You said that the softwares are identical between the disks. It's a long shot because of the changes to your POST, but give it a try.

Ok, I just completely uninstalled Bitdefender, and reinstalled it from scratch.
This seems "so far" to have cured the delay on the Welcome screen.

Still have no BIOS splash screen. Just got off the phone about 15 minutes ago with ASUS 2nd level tech support.
They escalated it to 3rd level tech support, and I'll hear from them approx. Thursday.

I moved this to TenForums, where it belongs, and neatened it up.
