Every so often when I log in to my new install, my icons are scrambled and all over the place on the screen. I wish I had thought to take a picture the last time it happened so you guys could see it. Sometimes even if they aren't scrambled, they are separated by a large amount of space and take up half the screen.

The next time I boot, all is well, and may be for days. Does anyone else have this happen to them? Or is it just me?

Facts:
- Fully updated 22H2 Win 11 Pro
- 4K monitor at 150% scaling
- Fully updated Nvidia GPU drivers
- Fully updated BIOS and Chipset drivers

    YA! This the old backup. In case things go south. It'll give me access to everything I need.
Thank you for the link Lance1. I did it when it screwed up again and it put the icons back where they were supposed to be, however three boots later and they were all over the place again, and then after the fourth boot they were back in place. I guess I am just going to have to live with this weirdness, but it seems to me that this is some kind of bug in the Desktop Manager.

I wonder if MS has a place I can file a report about it?

this happened to me a few times. It was something in setting as I recall, personalisation. I am scared to go deeper as I might screw it up again.

My current irritation is personalising desktop icons and the relevant disappearing of same to a white square. Not happened for few days but ...

I am kind of reluctant to go too deep into the settings, as last time I did it I really messed up and had figure out how to undo what I had done. It took quite a while, lol.

I've had the same thing happen on my Win 10 computer at work. It has always been because of Windows updates. I get a helpful text file on my screen where Microsoft proudly tells me all of the stuff that they have removed or disabled. Much to my chagrin. Sometimes, however, they just do it sneakily and poof, half of my engineering software is gone. Grrrrr.
