Streaming TV randomly dropping out

This just started happening recently, all the programs I use for accessing live TV: Freely, Freeview are all now freezing for seconds/minutes at a time they usually restart without me doing anything but it is incredibly frustrating when it does happen you see once it starts it carries on and on it isn't the router as I've just had an engineer to come and look at that and there's no problem. So it must be a problem with the machine or a setting that isn't working right.
Does anyone know what could be causing it and if there is a fix for it.

Something to start with.
I have a similar issue, appx: every 5 - 6 months. I unplug my router for 30 - 40 seconds & it's fixed.
You don't get a "java" circle? just a freeze?
A good engineer, would swap out the router.
The typical lifespan of a home Wi-Fi router is 3 to 5 years

How to Check if Your Router is Expired:
Distance if you moved it further
Moving your Wi-Fi router further away generally weakens your wireless signal and increases the number of walls or obstacles

There will be more posts.

I know you said it's not the router but are you sure it's not any router settings or recent setting changes? If you're using 5G it's usually best to set a fixed bandwidth for live streaming (usually 80mhz but a narrower 40mhz may be more stable) not automatic as letting it change bandwidths especially to 160mhz will drop live TV signals. Same for channels, pick a fixed stable 5G WiFi channel, 36, 40, 44, and 48 vs automatic. Also many people think setting a router's transmission (TX) power to maximum is the way to go when in fact it causes a screaming effect and interference from neighbors devices. A balanced power level is much more stable and won't pick up neighbors devices. You may also want to try disabling Target wake time and WiFi agile multiband settings in your router.

I would suggest downloading a WiFi analyzer app.

It can tell you who is using what channels in your area, your current signal strength, and your signal to noise ratio.
