After I did the move, I booted up and I got a "Preparing Drivers" message. There was an additional reboot, and then the boot up process progressed normally, although I do need to "finish" installing Windows and my Outlook program "needs" a license. (I have an Office 365 subscription for five devices.) I'll sort all that out tomorrow. For now, I'm happy that my gamble paid off. This means I don't have to install a ton of software into the new system.
The new machine came with a 1 TB "OPAL" NVMe dirve. Turns out it was made by Kioxia, and comes in models up to 4 TB. Which is good, since the NVMe drive from my old system was a SamSung 4 TB model.
And I'm happy that this new system is AMD-based.
