What is 'swapfile.sys' used for? Can I delete it?

Do not delete it. It is a system file, part of the virtual memory management. It is hidden so you do not delete it.

This Windows Central article is the best overview of swapfile.sys I can find anywhere. Sorry to say, there's nothing terribly useful in MS Answers or MS Docs. Go figure! Are you for or against Swapfile.sys?
