Windows 11 Ver 21H2 - 22000.652
I installed Win 11 onto my Samsung SSD 860 Pro 256 GB via the standard windows update and got everything working ok after about a week i installed a 500GB Samsung VNand SSD 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe M2 and then used Samsung Data Migration and cloned my 860 Pro onto the new VNand 980 Pro and when it was finished i unplugged the SSD 860 Pro and booted up the NVMe M2 and everything worked fine. Now several weeks later everything has changed and when i boot up by default it selects the Macrium boot option up instead of Win 11 unless i change it to Windows then it boots into Windows. In the Bios setting there is only 1 option which i use (cannot remember exact option name but it brings me back to the boot up into Macrium. Then i looked into the Disk management settings and found these setting which are not correct as the Partitions on Disc 1 upper window have split into 3 section: (C:) (Disk 1 Partition 1) and (Disc 1 Partition 2) and then in the lower window all 3 partitions show up as one Disc. So guess i have to get all 3 partitions working as one and not split up so i need someone a lot smarter than me to tell me how to fix it.

Thank you your help is greatly appreciated.

I don't see the 500GB NVMe drive in your picture, below...

Image1.png

It helps if the Disk Management screen shot, shows ALL of Disk management, side to side (stretched out), and top to bottom.
To post a screen shot... just use the PrtSc key, and then paste it in Paint or some image editor.
Crop it and then post it on here...

i had to remove one or the other as the system would not boot with both drives installed unless there is a way around that.
I will reinstall it and come back.

That suggests the bcd entries have gone awry. The macrium option will be a winpe entry.
An easy way to have a peek at them is with bootice. It might have wangled itself in as the deafult entry.

In professional mode, the default is bolded.

bootice-1.jpg

In easy mode, you can change them easily. Select the entry to want, click default, then click save system

bootice-2.jpg

For the geeky types:

If you are wondering why nothing is showing under the boot device section, it is because that particular entry I highlighted above is the result of sysprepping the system on that partition. So if I now want to boot into that , I would need to respecialize the entry, by selecting the relevant device in the dropdowns.

To specialize the entry, dot Partition, select the disk in the dropdown, select the partition in the dropdown, then click save current system. easypeasy. 10 second job.

For disk 2 there are two recovery partitions.
The orphaned recovery partition on the far left can be deleted creating unallocated space.
Then using third party software all of the partitions can be shifted to the left.
The C: drive can be extended into the new unallocated space the unallocated space is relocated immediately to the right of C: drive.
In general it is not worth the effort to have the < 1 GB of added free space.
However for tidiness it still can be done.

Do not merge partitions - at least three are supposed to be on drive 2. The first recovery partition can probably be deleted but more trouble than it is worth unless space is really tight.

If everything is working, I would leave it as it is. The possible headache isn't worth the extra 869 MB you would gain.
