About once a week or two when my system (System One in Computer specs) goes into S3 sleep, the screen blanks, but the system never powers down. I have At this point, the system appears dead, but the disk activity LED is blinking just like it's running normally. However, screen is blank, and keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. I have run a stress test with OCCT diagnostics for several hours, it didn't turn up anything.
When I check the event log, every time this particular hang happens, I always find Event 14, mvlddmkm. My looking around seems to indicate this is a Nvidia driver issue. I have uninstalled and updated and downgraded the video drivers, but no joy so far. Of course, this is hard to test and it only happens every week or two. It appears, since there is a two minute span between the error below and the restart, that the Event 14 is the last error logged before I pulled the plug and restarted.
