Solved System texts italicized after installing "Segoe UI" font.

I was trying to install 'Segoe UI' font because I was trying to test a css file that is using 'Segoe UI' font. I was not able to find it in my system fonts as I only had 'Segoe UI variable' font installed.

I found the "Segoe UI" font on Dafont and installed it for all users now the weird thing was after I installed it, the text on file explorer iteslf turned into some unreadable gibberish. It wasn't readable at all. So what I did was try to uninstall the font. But it wouldn't let me because it says its:

Segoe UI Black Italic cannot be deleted because it is a protected system font

Now I tried to restart my laptop and now every system text is italicized as seen on the photos.

Can somebody help me out?

Segoe UI Variable is now the default system font in Windows 11, replacing the classic Segoe UI.
Perhaps you’ve caused a conflict. Not sure how though.

If that doesn’t work, try changing the system front then change it back to Segoe UI variable

Segoe UI is the default Windows font. Its predecessor was Tahoma.

Windows Default font is segoe UI and has been since Windows 7. You did not have to install it. It was already installed. Chances are by installing the font from Dafont over the top of what was already installed resulted in corrruption of the font file.

Use Brinks reg file option 2 Change Default System Font in Windows 11

If that doesn't work, try a system restore to a point when you installed the font. If that doesn't work restore an image....if you have one.

Windows new system font is now “Segoe UI Variable“ as far as I have been schooled on it. Since last year I believe.

Segoe UI Variable is the new system font for Windows. It is a refreshed take on the classic Segoe and uses variable font technology to dynamically provide great legibility at very small sizes, and improved outlines at display sizes.
