Solved T minus 11.5 hours until the patch Tuesday updates release

For 26H2 there was no Setup Dynamic Update or Safe OS Dynamic Update like there was for 25H2 but there was a .NET update and the Cumulative Update. I created an ISO with the available updates and that seemed to work perfectly for a clean install both manually and unattended.

No issue with the update.

Well my Windows Update was corrupted for some reason and threw error 0x800700c1 when I tried to update from Windows 11 25H2 2620.9168 to 26200.9278. I though the next update would just overwrite the corrupted files, but I had the same error. So I decided to follow the instructions here to fix it. I am now updated to 26200.9445 but sfc scannow command replaced all my modified system files and lost all my custom system icons. Not big deal, I will customize them again. Happy that my Windows 11 is error free now. Hopefully I will also install 26H2 Enablement Package and switch to 26H2 on October. Thankfully Open Shell (including Classic Explorer Bar in File Explorer) and Explorer Patcher still work fine, the Registry fix wasn't undone.

No problems at all. Everything went smoothly.

It's kind of pointless giving a countdown for Patch Tuesday as it is a goal not a guarantee. Many updates have come later or on a different date down the years.

Frankly I do not check anymore - I just wait until our resident Area 51 member posts a post.

Warning: If you have a Windows Recovery partion and have already updated check in Event Viewer/Windows Logs/System for event 4501 successful windows Servicing succeeded. The Windows Recovery Environment version is now: 10.0.26100.9444. If you received a 4502 you may have run out of space.

My Windows Recovery Partion is currenly using 10010 mb. I've given it 2 gb until it settles down.

I run Windows 11 25H2 on an unsupported 3rd generation Intel Core-i7 3770 computer (see my 2nd system specs). I had an unrelated issue and could not update past version 26200.9168, but I fixed it and now I am at version 26200.9445. To fix my issue I used the sfc scannow command but this undone my custom system icons. Part of the procedure to customize them again is to kill File Explorer process, replace the files in Command Prompt and then start File Explorer again. I had an issue that File Explorer could not load. I tried to reinstall Explorer Patcher since this usually is the culprit, didn't make any difference, so I decided to just restart my computer. After login File Explorer loaded fine, no issues. It is probably too early since I just updated to 26200.9445, but so far nothing to worry about it...fingers crossed. Also since 26H2 uses the exact same system files with unlocked features, hopefully it won't cause any issues once I use 26H2 Enablement Package to switch from 25H2 to 26H2.

Had my numerous reboots today for the Patch Tuesday updates. Was expecting to see the ability to move the taskbar to the right or left sides of the monitor with this update, but I don't have the option yet. Did some AI searching and apparently it's a feature that installed, but is going to be rolled out gradually, so Microsoft servers will eventually tell my machine to make this new feature visible in the UI.

Did you remember to unlock the Taskbar before trying to move it? I cannot check right now because I am using Explorer Patcher and Open Shell but from what I remember in Windows 10 and other versions you had first to unlock the Taskbar before you could change its position or resize the notification area. Surely there is some Tutorial, check at the Tutorials section of Google it.

PS: If it is already installed but not enabled, there should be some appropriate setting in Winaero Tweaker to enable it or some Vive Tool command (ask Google).

No taskbar locking in Win 11, just select the position you want and the left/center or upper/center icon position if vertical.
