Taskbar is wild, causing problems

Windows 11
It used to be the Taskbar Manager/Task bar settings popup that caused me problems. I solved it by telling the taskbar not to show its ugly face.

Now, when I, for instance, click on RoboForm to enter my main password, the Taskbar pops up and the RoboForm windows closes. Over and over and over. Does anyone recognize this problem and what can I do to get the taskbar not to go rogue?

Grateful for some insight.

I don't know what version of 11 you are running but I am on release and also use Roboform. I never use Roboform from the task tray but integrate Roboform into my browsers and use it from there. However, I did just try it from the task tray and do not see the issue you describe.
If you don't find a solution, you might integrate Roboform into your browsers by adding the Roboform add-on extension.

When I try to use RoboForm from my browser, but it requires the maih password, it refers me up to the top right, where I click on RoboForm to enter the main password. That is when the darn taskbar pops up and creates havoc. (In my Win 10 desktop, a separate window opens up when I need to put the main password in.)

Now, this is not the problem, because the above has worked in the past. But suddenly, the damn taskbar pops up and RoboForm window on top/right closes. Same with the Task manager/Task bar settings popup when I try to solve NYTimes crossword puzzle,

Nothing but problems. I should probably install Win 10 and wait for 12. But I don't belive I can "revert" to 10, because 11 was on the laptop when I bought it a little while ago.

No you can't. It would require a clean install of 10.

If you are running any third party apps that alter the GUI, uninstall them to see if it resolves the issue. (start11,explorerpatcher,etc)

Also, Perform a clean boot to eliminate software conflict causing the problems. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

Otherwise, I believe a repair install should fix your issue.

I'll start with a repair install, since you think that will fix the problem.

Thank you!!!

The other 2 suggestions are way less time consuming and eliminate an app being the cause before jumping out there and assuming the problem is with the OS. Please notice I said I Believed a repair install would fix it. That's if it turns out to be a Windows problem and not an app problem. I have no way of knowing for sure.

Let me add to that that I would also
Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair. If it found corruption it could not fix followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Restart computer

(Note-you can follow up with another sfc /scannow command to make sure that dism repaired the files)

Okay, Glasskuter, I will revert to your original suggestion, and I will run sfc /scannow.

Thanks again,

Ran the sfc. /scannow. Corrupt files were detected and repaired. Win 11 seem to behave better, although one strange thing on NYTimes website: when clicking on a menu item, the item closed right away. When I kept the cursor on the menu, it stayed open and I was able to make a choice. Not sure what to attribute this behavior to.
