Taskbar Separator/Divider

I have a user whose taskbar has a divider so far left on the taskbar it creates an ellipsis immediately after more than 2 programs are opened, there's a huge space between the separator and the notification area. how can I either remove this separator (permanently), or move it all the way to the right next to the notification area?

What do you mean you have a user? A user account?

Reads like they may have a 3rd party tweaker installed for the taskbar. I’ve not read anything like that before. First time for everything though if it’s happening without some app or tweak causing it.
Is there anything obscure running in task manager that you can see, that may be causing (the system tray area?) to have expanded?
Can you right click anywhere on that blank space to the right and have anything odd show.
If you slide the cursor slowly along that side of the taskbar do you see any label pop up?

If there isn’t any taskbar tweakers running, like Start11 or StartIsBack or something, try aligning the taskbar behaviours in taskbar settings to the centre. What happens? Try that and set it back to the left to see if it kicks it in the guts.

From taskbar settings, unlock the taskbar. Now you should be able to click on the separator and move it to the left or right where you want it. Then you may lock the taskbar again to avoid accidentally moving the separator again.

Can't you right click on the ellipsis? If yes, do that and see if there any option to increase the space between icons.
