Hello,

I've got the taskbar set to auto hide for my OLED to prevent burn in.. Lately it's been having an issue where it won't open when I move my mouse cursor down and it won't come up unless i close or minimize my web browser.. Any suggestions would be great.. Thanks!

No I'm not. Just using what Windows 11 offers to auto hide the task bar.

Did this just "start" to happen recently?
If so... maybe there is a cause, we're not noticing.

It's the first time I used auto hide for my taskbar.. so it could just be a Windows 11 bug.. not for sure to be honest.

this is a work around not a fix
press the Windows key on your keyboard that will bring the task bar back into view
that way you wont have to close/minimise any open windows.

best of luck Steve ..

Is this with Fire Fox? I have the same issue and just got used to using the Windows key. It seems to work for a bit then all of a sudden it doesn't.

I had a similar problem. For me, it was caused by the Nvidia Overlay being on.

I don't use the overlay either. It comes and goes. It works, you do a few things in Fire Fox, go to access the taskbar and it isn't there. I get the same behavior with or without Start11.

I believe it's because you are running Firefox maximized. Right click on firefox desktop icon>select properties>under RUN select "normal window"
Note: If your icon is only on your taskbar right click on it,then right click again on Firefox listed in the menu that pops up.

Open Firefox. Drag the edges of the window to fit almost full screen, leaving a couple of pixels on all the edges and you see your border. At the bottom, where the taskbar will pop up, i usually leave a little more. When you get it sized, close and reopen FF. Windows will remember that size and open it that way next time. Worked for me.

just to add
its not auto-hide that is the problem
its the mouse sensitivity which when aligned with the bottom of the screen
doesn't activate the task bar from auto-hide.

best of luck Steve ..

it won't come up unless i close or minimize my web browser
I would reinstall the display driver if only to eliminate its possible corruption in use as a potential cause of the issue you are facing.

to prevent burn in
I thought that was ancient history.

Yes indeed, if you do not run FF in full screen maximized it will work every single time and will work for everyone. The issue is that it should work consistently in full screen. It does not. Right now, it is working just fine maximized in full screen.

My twenty year old laptop has had its taskbar in the same position throughout and shows no sign of 'burn in'.
My ten year old 'main' laptop is the same as is my eight year old desktop.

All the best,
Denis
