The Smart Phone Saga --- again!!

I get it that a smartphone may be a PITA. Since I must have one, I invest hard in one, to benefit fully. At home I use it as a computer while docked. It is plugged into my 32" monitor, mouse and keyboard.

I do a lot of reading, document editing, programming, gaming etc...some apps are garbage compared to PC tools but a lot of stuff happen in a terminal anyways...it is Linux afterall (Android).

For every year that pass by, I use it more and more, and everything simply just works. These tiny devices are getting so powerful that I could even get rid of my PCs entirely for most tasks and get by. Ofc a desktop computer will always blow it out of the water when it comes to raw performance...

To solve the problem of not having to carry a bulky phone with me during the summer, I use a smartwatch with multi-SIM connection. Means that I have the same number on my watch as on my phone.

I connect my wireless headset and I'm ready to go out. Can read messages, make and answer calls, make payments and even use Google Maps.

The only issue is short battery life...it won't last the whole day if connected to the internet. Other than that, it is very convenient. All I need in the summer is my underpants, shorts, watch, home keys and headset/buds and I'm set.

Just throw the phone away. It's nice not being subject to interruption by a robocaller at all hours of the day...

Or, you know, enable an option.

What? Answering a question with a question. Too many people are a prisoner of their phone or social media. I feel sorry for them. I feel no need or desire to be always connected.

When I don't want to be bothered I turn my phone and computers off. If someone feels that they need to contact me they can leave a text message or send me an email. If I want to respond later I will. I don't care if anyone doesn't like that.

I have to always be reachable because of the kids...but most social media apps, and even other apps, I've put into deep sleep. No notifications, no running in the background. Saves a lot of battery, and I can focus without distractions.
