Solved Thumbnail images VERY slow to load in File Explorer

Sorry, I left something out. In your old account you would need to export all your browser bookmarks and make note of any extensions you have installed. The bookmarks can then be imported into your browser of choice within the new account & the extensions reinstalled.
I can tell you how to also make a copy of your passwords saved in your browser if you tell me which browser you use. That won't be necessary if you have record of them all. You will just have to enter them manually the first time you login to a site.

Yes, that is correct. When you first login into the new account,it will be just as you experienced out of box. As protection, you can also leave the administrator account enabled until your new account is working. Once everything is ok you can then disable the hidden administrator account as I posted above.
Got it. I'll try to tackle all this tomorrow. I'm not very good at this stuff. Thanks again!

Thanks again! I created a new account and migrated all my data from the corrupted account. Also exported browser bookmarks. Passwords are in a separate, encrypted password manager, so that isn't an issue. Had to set up email accounts from scratch. Though Outlook offers a way to migrate contacts and calendar, there's no way to move email account setting to a new computer. That'll go in my "Why I Hate Microsoft" book.

Main thing is the thumbnail problem is resolved, thanks to you wise suggestion to create an admin account and test it from there.

Much obliged to you and all the others for your help. I sincerely appreciate it.
